Linville Falls Camping Trip

Over the Memorial Day weekend we went camping in Western North Carolina. We have done a lot of beach trips since being in North Carolina but this was our first family camping trip out West. While not as "rocky" as the Rocky Mountains the hills, forests, rivers, and waterfalls really were beautiful. The kids love camping and did very well. We stayed in the Linville Falls Campground right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The kids enjoyed playing in our 6 person tent and playing in the river that curved around the campground. We hiked to the base of Linville Falls, took the min-van 4 wheeling on our way to Wisemans Point overlooking the impressive Linville Gorge, went on a guided tour of Linville Caverns, drove the Blue Ridge Parkway from Boone to Asheville, "hiked" to the highest point in the Eastern US (Mt. Mitchell), and generally just enjoyed playing and relaxing in camp. We are already to looking forward to our next camping trip out West!
