Why do people feel it is necessary to point out to a 9 month pregnant lady that she is fat or round or, my personal favorite, "looks miserable"?
I was in the lunch room eating my lunch just a few minutes ago and this lady at another table kept looking at me. I was getting really frustrated. But then she decided to tell me that I look miserable. I laughed and answered all of her questions, but seriously does she need to reconfirm what I already know?!?
Any thoughts?

I totally agree... I used to get it all the time. My personal favorite, maybe because I got so big with mine, was when I was 6 months pregnant getting the "oh you must be due any time"... Or when they found out we were having the 5th, we got the "oh I hope you are done" like it is any of their business! So keep you head up, I know it is horrible what some people say, but honestly I don't think they think before opening their mouth! Love ya!
Oh Kari, I'm sorry that you've encountered some incredibly rude and insensitive people right when you're already not feeling that wonderful towards the end of your pregnancy (hmm, right when your hormones are not helping you feel emotionally/physically great either!!) I, personally, think pregnant women are beautiful and cannot comprehend how someone can say such a rude thing to a pregnant woman like this!! Well, people will always judge and they do tend to not think before they say anything that might hurt us, but just don't take it personally and don't feel miserable like she said you did... I love it when sometimes you feel just fine (and you don't think you look any different from any other day) and someone just greets you with a nice "wow, you look terrible today, are you sick? Did you get some sleep last night?" (what do you mean I look terrible? I'm not sick and I slept just fine, I just look terrible like this everyday!!! Humpf!!)
Oh well, just don't take it personally... Maybe she was having a bad day and took it out on you... You're holding up like a champ and soon little Parker/Tandberg will be there and you'll forget all about these rude comments... Try to feel great and have fun while you're pregnant though, you might miss it once it's all over :) By the way, I think you looked really cute with the round/pregnant belly :) And I loved to see the pics you put up here - it was fun to somehow follow the development of the pregnancy online... Now I can't wait to see our nephew!!!
Take care Kari!
Thanks Gaby! I wasn't offended by that lady or anything and I got a good laugh out of it. I just don't understand why people do it. If I look miserable she should be trying to make me feel better.
I think this a perfect example of people not thinking before they speak! Agreed, that it didn't need to be said. But I do hope you have your baby soon!
YOU DO LOOK MISERABLE!!! This baby has got to come soon. I'm just afraid that your ankles will be as big as my legs (this is Braxton talking).
I think they are people who are clueless or forgot how they love to hear "...my you're looking huge today..." Glad it's over. Get ready for "this is what I liked to do with MY kids" stories..."
